BIOGRAPHY

André Figueroa Garza. Mexican born, February 15, 2001.

Figueroa directed his first short film, Todavía No Puedo Dormir (2018), an avant-garde/neo-noir/experimental/silent drama that caught the attention of many famous film directors and actors. Elena! (2019) and Sándalo (2019) were shot on film romantic dramas, their troubled productions gave him the confidence to move onto bigger projects. Figueroa's growing ambition forced him to leave home and move to Mexico City in 2019 where he became a painter, photographer, creative director, writer, actor, and singer-songwriter. During this time he wrote his cinematic saga, LYRAE.

In 2023, his would be independent first feature film, GENESNAS and WICCA MACBETH, his adaptation of The Tragedy of Macbeth by William Shakespeare, was canceled mid-pre-production due to the lack of financial aid and poor treatment inflicted by Secretaría de Cultura. Then in 2024, after rekindling the project, he decided to kill the project because he didn't want to have anything to do with the Mexican government because of the terrible experiences he had had with them since he was a child.

Figueroa also worked as a music video director.

Poetry and writing were just a hobby for Figueroa, but they became equally important to him as filmmaking, and eventually he wrote and released his first poetry book, Todos los caminos sin retorno. From that point, Figueroa focused his energy and creative powers on the making of his fantasy novel, SERPENS, which will release on September 1st.
